Overdue. July 9, 2008

This post is a little late but at least I’m getting around to it.

NYC was great.  I highly suggest everyone take trips alone.  Someone told me once that it’s not the same (as in not as good) if you experience it alone.  That person is very wrong.

On one of my last days there I decided to start jotting it all down while it was still fresh.  Instead of repeating that task I decided to take photos of those pages of my journal.

Here’s the links to them on Flickr:

Or better yet…

Send me to the Slideshow ASAP!

My favorite parts?

  • The Farmers Market at Union Square
  • Sitting on the pier for hours in the rain
  • Lower East Side
  • Swatch
  • H & M
  • My gyro street vendor
  • Barrio Chino - great food!  Not as hot as I like it but very flavorful
  • Jalapeno margaritas
  • Watching Bocce at Bryant Park
  • My hotel room

Least favorite parts?

  • The airports
  • I could not find a decent iced chai to save my life
  • The World Trade Center is not as easily viewed as it was a few years ago.

That’s about it for now.  I might add more if I think about it.

The next time I’m there I want to hit at least another museum.  I also ran out of time or was too tired to hit Vbar or Hi-Fi.  Many thanks to Jason for all the recommendations!

A woman told me on the plane that I was on the same block the crane fell in in March that killed several people.  I did my research and found out it was a block away. The woman thought I was nuts for not noticing.  Lucky for me I’m not the idiot she thinks I am.  I can’t help it she lives in Highlands Ranch.

I’ll get all the pics posted soon too.

That just about sums it up for me.

I miss him.

The Fluid killed it last night.

I’m still reeling from all of it.  Kind of thinking of flying to Seattle to see them play again.  It was that fantastic.

I rarely ever yell anymore at shows.  I did last night and my throat is swollen today.

I forgot how much I missed *watching* crowd surfing. I really don’t miss surfing myself.  Haven’t done that since an early 90’s Primus show.

The show was amazingly loud and I loved it.  I haven’t left a venue with tinnitis like that in 15 years at least.

The energy was astounding to me.

I rarely ever brush my hair unless I am going to work.

I love to spit out my gum.  Since I’m a girl and can’t really sum up a loogie (sp?) this is all I have.  I have a spot on the 1-25/225 exit that I always spit it out at.  I’m trying to remake a version of the infamous gum tree  in my own little world.
